Brier Hill Pizza originated during the Great Depression. The pizza consists of a crunchy, dough, a sweet & thick meatless sauce, topped with peppers and ramano cheese. Garden’s helped many survive during the Great Depression. This helped create the Brier Hill Pizza’s meatless sauce and use of green peppers. To pay homage to the pizza, the Scrappers turned into the Mahoning Valley Brier Hill Pizzas for a game.
